Art Dolls
Every Little Seed Linen doll begins with a face.
Every Little Seed Linen doll is made slowly, from start to finish, with the belief that beautiful things should take time. They are heirloom-quality works of art, created for collectors who appreciate craftsmanship, imagination, and the stories that handmade objects carry with them.
The Face
The original sculpt was developed over many months, refined again and again until it captured the expression that felt unmistakably Little Seed Linen. From that master sculpture, each face is formed in polymer clay and brought to life by hand using layers of soft pastel, acrylic paint, and colored pencil. Because every face is painted individually, no two dolls are ever exactly alike.
The Body
The head and body are sewn from 100% linen and assembled entirely by hand. The body is filled with natural, non-mulesed lambswool, while the head is supported with hypoallergenic fiber filling for lasting structure. Each doll is stitched together by hand in my Pennsylvania studio.
The Clothes
The clothing is made primarily from natural fibers, including linen, wool, and cotton. Many of the fabrics come from vintage textiles, antique shops, or garments passed down through family, giving each doll a sense of history before its story even begins.
The Hair
The hair is created from natural fibers, using either needle-felted wool or mohair, depending on the character. Each hairstyle is shaped and finished by hand, allowing the texture and personality of the materials to become part of the doll’s story.
